Ongoing Support

Your app is in production. Now what?

Your app is live, but the work doesn't stop. OS updates break things. Crash rates creep up. Dependencies go stale. We keep your mobile app healthy so you can focus on growth.

Why Apps Need Ongoing Maintenance

Launching is the beginning, not the end. Without active maintenance, mobile apps degrade faster than web applications.

What Happens Without Maintenance

Mobile apps have a unique fragility: they run on hardware and OS versions you don't control.

  • iOS/Android updates break existing functionality
  • Crash rates climb as new devices enter the market
  • Third-party SDKs deprecate and stop working
  • App Store policy changes require code updates
  • Performance degrades as data volume grows
  • Security vulnerabilities emerge in dependencies

What Active Maintenance Gives You

A dedicated team that watches, tests, and fixes before users notice:

  • Same-day testing when new OS betas drop
  • Proactive crash monitoring with root-cause analysis
  • Dependency updates on a regular cadence
  • App Store compliance kept current automatically
  • Performance profiling and optimization each quarter
  • Security patches applied within 48 hours of disclosure

Tracktik: maintaining a 10-year-old security workforce app

Trackforce runs Tracktik, one of the largest mobile platforms in physical security. Used daily by thousands of guards across North America for shift management, patrol tracking, and incident reporting. The codebase is 10 years old.

We were brought in to handle the kind of work most agencies leave behind: ongoing stability for an app already in production. Diagnose revenue-impacting crashes at the native layer. Catch OS update incompatibilities before they shipped. Manage dependency drift across years of legacy code.

Same model we run for every maintenance client. Crash-free rates went back to production standards. Releases got predictable. The app kept shipping.

“Thank you Zawar, for the work you've done resolving revenue-impacting issues from the Tracktik mobile app.”

Continuous mobile work for CLEIO's EEG Android app

CLEIO is a Quebec neurotechnology company building EEG headset companion apps. Their Android codebase needed senior capacity for ongoing development and maintenance work: feature delivery, stability through Android version transitions, dependency upkeep, sprint-by-sprint releases.

We engaged through DEVSFLOW. Zawar joined CLEIO's Android team and stayed embedded over multiple project cycles. Shipped features on cadence, kept the app stable through OS upgrades, and maintained the release rhythm a hardware-connected app needs to stay in production.

Same model we run for every maintenance client. Continuous work, in your sprint, at production cadence.

“Zawar joined CLEIO's Android development team on an engagement through DEVSFLOW Technologies and quickly proved himself to be a dependable, communicative, and professional consultant. He integrated smoothly into the project team, ramped up on the project context efficiently, and consistently delivered against the cadence set by the client.”

What's Included

Everything your mobile app needs to stay healthy, compliant, and performant, month after month.

OS Compatibility

We test your app against every iOS and Android beta release. When something breaks, we fix it before the public release ships to your users. No surprises on launch day.

Crash Monitoring and Resolution

Continuous crash monitoring with automated alerting. When crash-free rate drops below threshold, we investigate, diagnose, and ship a fix, often before users report it.

Performance Optimization

Quarterly performance audits covering startup time, memory usage, battery impact, and network efficiency. We identify regressions and optimize proactively.

Dependency Management

Regular updates to third-party SDKs, libraries, and toolchains. We test each update in isolation, catch breaking changes, and keep your app off deprecated APIs.

Security Patching

Monitoring CVE databases and dependency advisories. Critical security patches are applied and tested within 48 hours. Non-critical patches rolled into the next maintenance cycle.

App Store Compliance

Apple and Google change policies regularly. We track policy updates, assess impact on your app, and make required changes before your app gets flagged or removed.

Bug Fixes and Minor Improvements

A monthly allocation of development hours for bug fixes, small UI improvements, and minor feature tweaks. Keeps the app moving forward without a full engagement.

Monthly Reporting

Clear monthly reports covering crash rates, performance metrics, completed work, upcoming risks (OS releases, SDK deprecations), and recommended actions.

One plan covers most apps. Here it is.

After maintaining 10+ production mobile apps, we found that the same set of work keeps things healthy across almost all of them. So we put it in one plan instead of asking you to pick from tiers.

Recommended for most apps

Professional Maintenance

Active monitoring, OS readiness, and the development hours you need each month.

Built for production apps with active users where reliability matters and downtime has a real cost. Designed so we catch and fix issues before your users notice them.

  • Continuous crash monitoring with alerts
  • OS beta testing the day each new beta drops
  • Monthly dependency and SDK updates
  • Quarterly performance profiling
  • App Store policy compliance tracking
  • 24-hour critical issue response
  • 15 hours per month for bug fixes and small features
  • Monthly written report with risks and recommendations

If this isn't quite right for your app

Lighter coverage

For stable apps with low traffic (MVPs, internal tools, occasional users). Drop OS beta testing, weekly response windows, and the full development allocation. Email us with the use case.

Dedicated engineer

For mission-critical apps in fintech, healthcare, or workforce management where downtime is revenue. Same plan, plus a named engineer on weekly syncs and faster escalation. Email us with the situation.

Not sure which fits? Tell us about your app and we'll recommend the right one, or build a custom plan if none of these match.

What a typical engagement looks like

A predictable monthly cycle plus a clear incident response posture. You stop wondering whether your app is healthy.

Day 1

Audit call with whoever knows the app

We talk through the codebase, the deployment history, the most recent fires, and the unknowns. We agree on what success looks like 90 days in.

Week 1

Codebase audit and monitoring setup

We read the source, document the architecture, and stand up Crashlytics or your preferred monitoring if it is not already there. You get a written audit at the end of the week.

Week 2

Baseline report and 30-day plan

Current crash rate, current performance metrics, current risks (security, OS deprecations, App Store policy gaps). We agree on what gets fixed in the first month.

Month 1 onward

Monthly cycle, predictable cadence

Dependency updates, OS beta testing, bug fix queue worked through, monthly written report with what we did and what we caught. No surprises in the invoice or the work.

When something breaks

Incident response within 24 hours

Critical issues (crash spikes, data loss, security vulnerabilities) get our attention same day. Diagnosis, fix, and expedited App Store review when needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

We didn't build our app with you. Can you still maintain it?

Yes. Most of the apps we maintain were built by other teams. We'll do a thorough codebase audit during onboarding to understand the architecture, identify risks, and get up to speed quickly.

What happens when a new iOS or Android version drops?

We test your app against beta releases as soon as they're available, usually same-day on the beta release date. If we find issues, we fix them and have an update ready before the public release.

How do you handle critical production issues?

Our Professional Maintenance plan includes 24-hour response for critical issues (crash spikes, data loss, security vulnerabilities). We diagnose, fix, and push an expedited App Store review when needed.

Can maintenance hours roll over month to month?

Yes, unused development hours roll over for up to 2 months. This gives you flexibility for months where more work is needed without losing hours in quieter months.

What if we need more development hours than our plan includes?

Additional hours can be purchased at any time. If your needs consistently exceed the standard allocation, we'll discuss either a Dedicated Engineer arrangement or a custom plan since that's usually more cost-effective.

Do you handle App Store submissions?

Yes. We manage the full release cycle including build preparation, App Store Connect/Play Console configuration, review submission, and handling any review rejections or compliance requests.

What's the minimum contract length?

Our minimum contract is 3 months to cover onboarding and codebase audit. After that, it's month-to-month with 2 weeks notice. We typically see the best results after 6 months, but there's no long-term lock-in required.
